There’s a good chance this is probably Bob Lang, who was known for doing “Gray Drug News Parade” first on Channel 5, then Channel 8, occasionallly partnered with Jimmy Dudley. The Cleveland Press Archive has a picture of Lang and Dudley from the Gray Drug News set at WXEL in 1955..Which looks quite similar to the set at WEWS..
Yep. That’s Bob Lang. I was in his “Persuasion” class when he taught in the school of Speech at Western Reserve University back in the mid-1950s. If memory serves, he also became a spokesman for the Cleveland Academy of Medicine on the radio.
It is Bob Lang, and believe it or not, I once sat in for him one evening when he was ill. I had never done TV Nrews, and Dorothy Fuldheim coached me through the whole thing. Jim Doney
