Sure looks like him but still a little hard to tell. And to think that Liberace played a villain on the Batman Tv show known as Chandell and his twin brother Harry.
His faithful followers would say he could play as well as Liberace, but that’s the late Joe Howard, one of Cleveland’s favorite pianists for over half a century. Joe Howard appeared hundreds of times on Cleveland radio and television, on several albums, performed with the Cleveland Orchestra and later in life got his masters degree and became a music professor at Tri-C. He headed jazz studies at the Cleveland Music School Settlement. Joe Howard was also music director for Channel 5′s One O’ Clock Club with Bill Gordon and Dorothy Fuldheim back in the late fifties. Before his passing last year, He often appeared with singer, Vince Mastro at Bongiorno’s restaurant in Twinsburg where the local music legends attracted a faithful following. Joe Howard was 82.
I can vouch that Joe Howard was definitely on the One O Clock Club..Among 5 and 1/2 hours of Channel 5 programming (audio only-about 9AM-2:30 PM) from Friday May 24, 1963 I acquired last year is a full One O Clock Club Including commercials, on which “Joe Howard and The Allegros” appear..
