TV8 photog Bob Begany and Neil Zurcher on the “grinder” at Parris Island, SC Marine Corps Boot Camp 1974

Photographer Bob Begany took a photograph of my Aunt Donna Hurley back in the 1970’s. Donna has a terminal illness and mentioned this photograph that was taken of her hands playing the piano (she’s a church organist). My family is looking for this photograph as we would like to have it at her funeral but no one can find it. Is there any way to contact Bob Begany to find out if he remembers this photo and would possibly have kept the negative? Please contact me as soon as possible with any information as time is of the essence. Thank you very much.

Sadly Bob Begany passed away several years ago. I rather doubt there would be any way to retreive the photo. Bob was a video photographer for WJW-TV and all the early films from the 50’s, 60’s and early 70’s was destroyed when the station moved from Playhouse square to South Marginal Road. As for his personal photographs I am sorry to tell you that Bob’s wife also recently died and I have no way of knowing what their family did with old negatives and photos. It’s a long shot but you might want to contact the public relations office at WJW-TV and ask them if they have any record of your Aunt.
I’m sorry we can’t help you.
