Our Stories
Auman TV Museum in Dover, Ohio may be one of the most complete collections of early television sets in the country.
From an early Marconi set with a two-inch screen to a 1939 RCA where the picture was reflected in a mirror, to the futuristic Philco TV’s of the 1950’s. They are all here and most are in working condition.
He also has in his collection Dick Goddard’s first weather boards from WJW-TV, as well as publicity photos from the Gene Carroll Show on WEWS and Academic Challenge.
If you remember the days of 7 and 10 inch television sets, with the big oil-filled globe in front to magnify the picture, you will probably find it here. It’s well worth the trip to Dover to see the collection.
Owner Larry Auman has been a television technician for years and started his collection forty years ago. His museum is open by appointment just about any time, just give him a call first at 330-364-1058.

I am trying to locate the opening scene from Morning Exchange. My dad Robert Brady worked on this in the late 60’s/early 70’s. It consisted of the alarm clock, shower, razor on face, coffee, etc.
Thanks Matt

I was wondering if by any chance there is any type of film footage remaining from the show that aired on WEWS called “Academic Challenge” in 1977or 1978? My friend was on that show , he attended Jefferson Area High School . I believe it aired sometime during the spring. He has been dying to find some information about that particular show and if at all possible I would love to help him in his “quest” . His name is David Henderson. Please feel free to email me or contact me by phone ! My name is Mallory Simeone # (860) 689-4728. I would so greatly appreciate any information you may have. Thank you in advance.
Sincerely, Mallory Simeone

I was interviewed by Bozo, circa 1961, on live TV.
My relative who was a cameraman on the Bozo set, asked him to talk with me.
Any way to see the old film clip?
