I’m not local, but trying to get the records straight. Was Andrea the daughter of Gene or related in some other way? We have a lot of pictures of her. How was she involved in television?

She was not related, and I am not even sure that Carroll was her last name. I have heard that she adopted Gene Carroll’s name as a tribute to all the help she received from him in her early career. Carl Monday, who is an expert on that era may have the whole story.

Andrea Lee DeCapite and I attended Baldwin-Wallace College together in the late 1960’s and worked together on several college drama productions directed by Professor Bill Allman. Her stage/recording name Andrea Carroll was an homage to Gene Carroll, who discovered and developed her as a teen recording talent. She is now Dr. Andrea Hilll, and lives in California.

Andrea Carroll graduated from Valley Forge in 1964 we were classmates.
